Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in education. It reads:

"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

Sex discrimination includes sexual harassment and sexual assault.

Title IX Deputy Coordinator

Sexual assault, sexual harassment, sexual violence and other behavior prohibited by this policy should be reported to the appropriate Title IX Deputy Coordinator.

Campus Conduct Hotline

                     

Campus Conduct Hotline is a confidential, anonymous way to alert administrators of unsafe or unethical behavior BEFORE it spirals out of control.
Simply dial toll-free to 866.943.5787.

TLU Campus Police

A report can also be made to the Texas Lutheran University Police Department by dialing “0” on a campus phone or 830-372-8000, or Police Chief Irene Garcia by dialing ext. “6309” on a campus phone or 830-372-8000.

City of Seguin Police Department

Contact the City of Seguin Police Department by dialing "911" or 830-379-2123.

Any University Employee

  • All university employees are mandatory reporters and will report any information received regarding an incident of sexual assault, sexual harassment, domestic or dating violence, and/or stalking to the Title IX Coordinator or Deputy Title IX Coordinator within 48 hours of receiving it with the exception of Confidential Resources
  • Confidential Resources are not mandatory reporters.  See the section above for a list of designated confidential resources on campus.
