Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in education. It reads:
"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

A complaint or report may be verbal or written and does not need to take a particular form.
Sexual assault, sexual harassment, sexual violence and other behavior prohibited by this policy should be reported to the appropriate Title IX Deputy Coordinator.

A report can also be made to the Texas Lutheran University Police Department by dialing “0” on a campus phone or 830-372-8000, or Police Chief Irene Garcia by dialing ext. “6309” on a campus phone or 830-372-8000.

Duties and Responsibilities: Monitoring and oversight of overall implementation of Title IX Compliance at the University, including coordination of training, education, communications, and supervision of the grievance procedures for faculty, staff, students and other members of the University community.
