Upcoming downtime for TLU systems on Wednesday (10/14) and Friday (10/16) - completed

TLU IT staff will be applying maintenance updates to most TLU systems later this week during the Fall Break time period. We will do it in 2 stages:

1st) Wednesday, October 14th from 6pm-10pm, the mail system (mail.tlu.edu) and MyTLU will be unavailable. The mail server will be getting an update to help mitigate the recent problem of some browsers (such as Google Chrome) not being able to send attachments via WebMail. While the update does not fix the browser it will have WebMail check the browser’s ability to support it upfront and use the “light version” of WebMail which does allow for attachments.

2nd) Friday, October 16th from 6pm-midnight virtually all TLU systems will be unavailable (MyTLU, file services such as “Y” drives and “I” drives, authentication services). These updates are primarily for the hardware infrastructure (servers and disk storage) that support most of our systems.

Special Note: None of these updates will require any action on your part. I mention this because some spammers have in the past sent scam e-mail messages that indicate your need to “verify or confirm your account” by providing your password. Remember, TLU IT will never ask you for your password via an e-mail!

A message will be sent once the maintenance has been completed on both evenings

Thanks,

Bill/Rob/Joseph/Daniel/Darryl
