TLU Seguin and NB Campuses to be closed Wednesday Feb 1st

As we are still under a Winter Storm Warning and the National Weather Service is predicting freezing rain and ice on the roads and highways overnight, both the Seguin and New Braunfels campuses will be closed Wednesday, February 1st. Safety is our number one priority for students, faculty, and staff.

Academics (Students and Faculty): This does not mean that classes are cancelled. Faculty may offer virtual or remote instruction or provide alternative options for learning. Faculty will reach out to students as to their plans and it is the student’s responsibility to make sure you do not miss a remote class if at all possible. Any class engagement must remain remote and not require students to travel to campus.

Staff: Staff should check with their supervisor on plans for work tomorrow. Only University Police and Sodexo essential staff are expected to be on campus.

Buildings: All buildings are closed with the exception of the Alumni Student Center (ASC) and the Hein Dining Hall.

Dining services: Hein Dining Hall will be open tomorrow from 9:30am  to 1:30 pm and 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Tschoepe Café and Lucky’s will be closed.

We will continue to monitor the weather conditions and will make a decision by 5pm tomorrow (Wednesday) should any further closure be warranted.  Check the TLU website for weather updates: https://www.tlu.edu/weatheralert
