Description









This course introduces baccalaureate nursing students to the principles of maternal-newborn nursing, focusing on the care of women during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period, as well as the care of newborns and families. Students will integrate theoretical knowledge with clinical application to promote safe, patient-centered, and culturally competent care. Emphasis is placed on developing clinical reasoning, communication, and hands-on assessment skills within the framework of family-centered and evidence-based practice. Simulation, case studies, and clinical experiences are utilized to strengthen assessment, critical thinking, and professional identity formation. Prerequisite: NURS340
