Description
This course provides an advanced study of pediatric nursing within a family-centered, developmentally appropriate framework. Students critically assess the physical, psychosocial, developmental, and sociocultural needs of children and adolescents, including the impact of illness and chronic conditions on families. Emphasis is placed on evidence-informed care, clinical reasoning, pediatric pharmacology, therapeutic communication, and implementation of best-practice interventions. Through interactive and experiential learning, students develop professional accountability, ethical and legal decision-making, advocacy, cultural humility, and interprofessional collaboration in diverse pediatric settings.
