This course explores the efforts of African Americans to achieve civil rights beginning in the 1860's through the present day. In addition to providing a broad chronological and thematic framework for understanding the movement, this course will also introduce students to a diverse array of primary sources that will help develop an understanding of the major themes of the Civil Rights Movement and familiarize students
