The module is designed for students with basic guitar chord-playing ability who want to explore techniques for playing single string lead melodies. The ability to read music or tablature is not necessary as the class will be based on ear training and motor learning. While much of class will focus on folk, country, and traditional music, flatpicking techniques used in blues, rock, and jazz will also be explored.
