The introduction to African American Studies course will satisfy the students developed Engaged Citizenship competency as a General Education Requirement. By design, the course is a general interdisciplinary survey that traces the African American experience, spanning 500 years from the colonization of the US and the installation of trans-Atlantic slavery to the present day.
