Texas Lutheran University, Department of Nursing has formal approval from the Texas Board of Nursing and the Commission on College of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to offer a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN). In providing exemplary undergraduate nursing programs that promote academic excellence the department offers two tracks for a baccalaureate of science degree in nursing: the traditional pre-licensure BSN track and the RN to BSN track (individuals who are already licensed as a registered nurse

BSN Track Application

The BSN track will begin accepting applications on November 1, 2014 through January 30, 2015 for fall 2015 admission. The BSN track gives students the necessary education, training, and hands-on opportunities to earn a degree in a rapidly growing profession. The program consists of sixty credit hours taken during the student's junior and senior years at TLU.
The deadline for all application material to be received in the Department of Nursing is January 30, 2015 at 5 PM. Only students who have completed (or will complete by time of enrollment) the prerequisites for the nursing program should apply. Refer to the website ( for information about the prerequisites and other information pertinent  to admission to this particular track. Letters of acceptance into the BSN track will be sent after March 1, 2015.

RN to BSN Track Application

The RN to BSN program is now available at Texas Lutheran University. The RN to BSN track is designed for the registered nurse with an Associate Degree in Nursing and who holds a current, unencumbered license in Texas as a registered nurse. It is a 12-month program that gives the registered nurse the opportunity to obtain additional knowledge and competencies related to professional nursing as well as earn the Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN).
