Microsoft recently started a program where current TLU students may download Office 365 software on their personal computers (Windows and Macintosh) and supported smart phones and tablets for free. The program allows for up to 5 downloads of the Office suite which includes:
· Office 365 ProPlus for Windows: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Lync, and InfoPath
· Office for Mac Professional 2011: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Lync
· Office Mobile for iPhone: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote
· Office Mobile for Android: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote
The software will remain available and free while you are current student at TLU. Once you graduate or leave TLU, the software will essentially become "read-only" and you will have the option to subscribe with Microsoft directly (prices vary depending on options chosen but average between $99 to $159/year) and continue using the software that you downloaded. Should you decide not to purchase the software you will still have access to the documents for viewing and printing but not editing.
If you are interested in taking part of this program do the following:
1) Email
ishelp@tlu.edu and let the Help Desk know you would like to be registered for the software. Allow 1 to 2 business days please. Note: starting this coming fall, all TLU students will be automatically registered and won’t need this step.2) The Help desk will alert you via e-mail when you have been registered and direct you to Microsoft’s online website here:
http://login.microsoftonline.com You will sign on with your TLU username and password
3) Once logged in proceed to the downloads page and choose which software you would like to install on your computer. Follow the instructions provided and you should be good to go! Should you be graduating this May or not return to TLU in the fall semester, your subscription will end once late registration has completed – or August 29, 2014
