We have had several confirmed reports of e-mail scams going around on campus with subject lines like:
- TLU Workplace Survey
- Degree Plan
- Reception for Jerry and Terry Weers
to name a few. The scam is designed to get you to click on the link that says “Display full message” or something along those lines. One version asks you for your credentials to continue and another loads a web page that implies that your computer has a virus and is “blocked” (it is not). IT staff is working at removing these behind the scenes but in the meantime if you get one of these please delete it.
- If by chance you provided your password, please change it as soon as possible.
- If you get your browser “locked” like in screen shot #2, reboot your computer and run a virus scan. You likely do not have a virus but never hurts to double-check.
